Welcome to Leh — the heart of Ladakh, where glaciers meet the Great Himalayas.
Upon arrival at Leh Airport, the BookLadakh team will warmly receive you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in.
Since Leh sits at a high altitude (11,500 ft), today is reserved for rest and acclimatization. Relax, hydrate, and allow your body to adjust before the adventure begins.

Terrain: Basic / Warm-up Ride
After breakfast, we begin with a scenic acclimatization ride covering some of Ladakh’s most iconic landmarks:
- Magnetic Hill
- Gurudwara Pathar Sahib
- Hall of Fame (War memorial museum dedicated to Indian soldiers)
- Sangam Point – Confluence of the Indus & Zanskar Rivers
- Evening visit to Shanti Stupa for panoramic sunset views
This day helps you tune into your machine and the mountain roads.

Duration: 7–8 hours
Terrain: Advanced
Today the landscapes begin to change dramatically.
We visit:
- Rancho’s School
- Thiksey Monastery (15th century monastery built in 1430 AD)
En route, we stop at:
- Chumathang Hot Springs
As we ride deeper into the Changthang region, the terrain becomes more rugged and isolated.
Tso Moriri, located in the high-altitude Changthang Plateau, welcomes us with surreal shades of blue against barren mountains — one of Ladakh’s most breathtaking alpine lakes.
Time to relax, explore, and capture the raw beauty.

Today we enter one of the most remote regions of India.
Hanle sits at an altitude of 4,500 meters and is home to:
- Hanle Monastery – offering panoramic views of the entire valley
- Indian Astronomical Observatory – one of the highest optical observatories in the world
The region is known for:
- Vast open landscapes
- Rare Himalayan wildlife
- Crystal-clear night skies
A truly offbeat and peaceful Himalayan experience.

Distance Option 1: 285 km (8–9 hrs) via Umling La – 19,024 ft
Distance Option 2: 250 km (8–9 hrs) via Mig La – 19,400 ft
Terrain: Extreme
Today is the ultimate high-altitude challenge.
We attempt either:
- Umling La (19,024 ft) – among the highest motorable roads in the world
OR - Mig La (19,400 ft) – an extreme high-altitude route (road conditions may vary; sections can be steep and demanding)
Final route decision will be taken by the ride captain based on:
- Rider comfort
- Weather conditions
- Road status
After conquering the pass, we continue towards the legendary Pangong Lake.

Duration: 6–7 hours
Terrain: Advanced (Off-road + Water crossings)
We ride via the adventurous Shayok Route — a raw Himalayan experience with off-road stretches and possible water crossings.
Nubra Valley is famous for:
- White sand dunes of Hunder
- Double-humped Bactrian camels
- Diskit Monastery (33-meter Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley)

Duration: 5–6 hours

We cross the legendary Khardung La (17,982 ft), one of the highest motorable passes in the world.
This is your final high-altitude ride before descending back into Leh — a moment to reflect on the epic journey completed.
