Arrival at Leh airport and transfer to hotel. The day is intentionally light to allow proper acclimatization to high altitude.

Evening gentle walk in Leh market if energy permits.

Drive along fertile Indus valley villages contrasting with stark mountain backdrops. This culturally rich yet low-altitude day ensures safe progression before heading toward remote sectors.

Terrain Level: 4 – Remote High Altitude

A dramatic transition into the Changthang Plateau.

Route highlights:

• Upshi
• Chumathang hot springs
• Mahe Bridge (permit checkpoint)

The landscape opens into vast, wind-swept plains where nomadic Changpa settlements dot the horizon.

Arrival at:

• Tso Moriri (4,522 m)
• Overnight at Korzok Village

Evening by the lake — raw silence, migratory birds, endless skies.

Terrain Level: 2 – Easy / Exploratory

A slow day dedicated entirely to experiencing the stillness of Tso Moriri.

Experiences include:

• Visit to Korzok Monastery
• Lakeside walks
• Optional short drive toward nearby wetlands
• Interaction with Changpa nomadic settlements (seasonal)

This is not a sightseeing day — it’s a presence day. High altitude demands rest and slowness.

Duration: 6–7 Hours

Terrain Level: 4 – Remote & Isolated

One of Ladakh’s least-traveled and most spectacular routes across the Changthang region.

Cross:

• Namshang La
• Wide-open grazing plains

Arrive at:

• Hanle (4,500 m approx.)

Evening visit to:

• Hanle Monastery

If permitted, view the world-famous Indian Astronomical Observatory area (outer zone).

Hanle offers some of the darkest skies in India — perfect for stargazing.

Terrain Level: 2 – Easy / Slow Day

A day to absorb Hanle’s isolation.

Experiences:

• Sunrise over vast plateau
• Village walks
• Nomadic landscapes
• Optional short drives toward border road stretches (subject to permits)

This region feels almost Tibetan in character — remote, sparse, deeply peaceful.

Evening stargazing (weather permitting).

Distance: 170–180 km

Duration: 6–7 Hours

Terrain Level: 4 – Remote High Altitude

A dramatic high-altitude traverse across:

• Rezang La region
• Chushul plains

Arrive at:

• Pangong Tso (4,350 m)

Evening at the lake as colors shift from deep blue to silver-grey.

Overnight near lake (Spangmik / Man / Merak sector depending on availability).

Distance: 160 km

Duration: 5–6 Hours

Terrain Level: 3 – High Mountain Pass
